A fond memory I have of my childhood summers was our annual trek to the berry farm to pick berries. It was fun seeing Cole's excitement today as we started filling up our buckets with fresh strawberries as we started the tradition for our family.

He has never liked strawberries before, despite our efforts to get him to eat them. After being out in the fields today he gave in and tried them again, and humbly admitted they were good. And then ate a whole bowlful.

Lake Cushman

Last weekend we got away to Lake Cushman in the Olympic Pennisula with my sister and her husband. It was beautiful, peaceful, and off the map. We went fishing, the guys played golf, and Harmony and I found the most delicious licorice ice cream I've ever had. Cole was great, and loved hanging out with his Auntie and Uncle, who are expecting their first in just 6 weeks!

We didn't catch any fish, but Cole kept himself busy by collecting sticks and throwing rocks in the lake. I think most little boys could do that all day and stay entertained.

Belly shot. Fun fact - we are exactly 20 weeks apart in our pregnancies. Here Harmony is 34 weeks and I am 14.

Because you have to take a silly shot.

Ken is always smiling. Always. I think I know his trick now.

We're still potty training...  New rule, if you poop in your pants you get to carry it home on a stick and go commando. We weren't being mean, it was his idea!

Goin' Fishin'

We took Cole on his first little fishing adventure at a local trout farm. Of course he couldn't contain his excitement and kept saying he was going to catch a "big, big, giant fish". We caught three in about 10 minutes, so I think his idea of real fishing is now skewed.

A little scared

Jeremiah 29:11

We are so excited to share that Christmas is coming early for us this year - Cole is going to be a big brother in December! I am due with baby #2 on December 12th.

It has been a long journey toward this blessing of ours, we lost a few precious babies along the way and didn't think we would be able to have more kiddos. But, God continues to amaze and bless us, so far our little bean is doing great. At my 12 week ultrasound the doc said that baby is measuring just as he/she should be, the heartbeat was nice and strong at 159.

12 weeks

The title of this post is because of the verse I've had taped to our fridge for some time now. It's been the perfect promise through this journey:
