Meet our little one-eyed sweetie pie, "D". D came to us through dog rescue, she had quite the life before she came to live with us. She is the most cuddly dog I have ever had, and she is Cole's BFF.
Cole is quick to let new people know that she only has one eye.
This is how the story goes:
"Cole, what happened to D's other eye?"
"She lost it!"
"Where did it go?"
"The garbage man came and took it and put it in the back of his truck and drove away!"

Birthday boy
Another request for a football cake this year. And I must say, quite an improvement over last year!

Urgent care visits - feared by many but rejoiced by my son. Visiting the doctor is basically the equivalent of Disneyland to my little man. He loves the special instruments, talking to the nurses and getting to pick out a sticker. Last week he had a cough he just couldn't shake and we found out he had a little bug that needed treatment. He got to wear this special "space mask" and even got to take it home. I cringed when the nurse warned me that I might have to hold him down to keep it on for five minutes, but he just stared proudly into the mirror the whole time. Hilarious.

I am three today
I am three today.
I talk all the time, all day long.
I can count all of my fingers and toes.
I am learning how to ride a bike with training wheels.
I love to go to parties.
I hide things in my pockets.
I am a master negotiator.
I am definitely not shy.
Hide and seek is my favorite game.
I am going to go to preschool in the fall.
My favorite food is yogurt.
My favorite color is green.
I love to dance.
Happy Birthday to our sweet, precious boy. You are the light of our world and we cannot imagine what life would be without you! We treasure all of our giggles, "snugs" and everyday with you. Thanks so much for blessing us every day.

Yesterday was a long day
This was the face yesterday. All day. We had tantrums and meltdowns and crocodile tears all over the place. Some days are just like that.
One of the wonderful things about having kids is that God knows just when to give you a break and remind you just how precious the gift of children is. When you think you just can't take any more you start falling in love with them all over again.
When I went to get Cole up from his nap yesterday he was a hot mess. He had food and crumbs stuck to his face, one sock off and one sock on, and crusty eyes from all the crying. I crawled into bed with him and we cuddled for a long time and I just looked at him and treasured my little boy - who is almost 3! When he woke up he was all smiles, back to his usual cheerful self.

Little words
Cole is quite the talker, I'm told he gets that from me. He's been coming up with some pretty darling things lately...
"That's a good planet Mom" (instead of plan)
Me: "What are you thankful for today Cole?"
Cole: "Hmmm. Cars. No else."
Me: "I will cuddle with you for five minutes and then I have to go."
Cole: "No Mommy, ALL five minutes."
